Sunday School
Sundays 10:00 - 11:00 AM
3040 Asbury Dr, Columbus, OH 43221
Sunday School is open to any child or teen
Kids and parents of all faiths and cultures are welcome. Jesus is our master, and he taught us to "suffer the children, and forbid them not to come to me: for such is the kingdom of heaven.
Any child or teen up to the age of 20 is welcome.
Christian Science Sunday School teaches how to understand the Bible
Sunday School helps children develop an understanding and love of God that can support them as they grow. For young children, this includes learning about a loving God, and learning that they can turn to God when they need help. For older children and teens, Sunday School is a place to ask questions and learn how God and prayer can help in their everyday lives.
Core to this teaching is the Bible. Sunday School lessons include:
-
The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20)
-
Christ Jesus’ Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) and its spiritual interpretation from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (pp. 16-17)
-
Christ Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, especially the Beatitudes
-
Questions and answers adapted to each class, which may be based on that week’s Bible Lesson-Sermon—the same sermon being read in the church service

What to expect in Sunday School
Every Sunday School will look a little different in response to its unique community, as well as the needs of the church. But all children are welcomed! And the general outline of what happens in Christian Science Sunday Schools is the same.
Sunday School lasts one hour, usually the same hour as the Sunday church service, and includes:
-
An opening hymn
-
Reading the introduction to that week’s Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly
-
Silent prayer, followed by the Lord’s Prayer from Christ Jesus
-
Children breaking into class for instruction
-
Students reconvening for final hymn and closing
